Bill Billings and Sue Nail founded RIVERadio in May, 2004, with the intention of designing and building HD Radio receivers. Over the next seven months, key executives were recruited and the company signed a licensing agreement with iBiquity, paving the way for the production of HD Radio-capable receivers.

In March, 2005, the company changed its name to Radiosophy and began production design on its premier product, the MultiStream HD. The following month, the MultiStream HD won the prestigious Radio Magazine "Pick Hit" award at the 2005 National Association of Broadcasters convention.

By August, 2005, the company had grown to 13 employees and signed a manufacturing agreement with iLAB America. That same month, Radiosophy announced its innovative Broadcast Partner Program, enabling radio stations to team with the company to promote HD Radio and the MultiStream HD.

In 2005, the company received a Newsmaker of the year award from Radio Daily News.
